Frequently Asked Questions

Got a question of your own? Click here.

Q: In what countries has Twelve been published?
A: Twelve is already out as a trade paperback in Poland, France and the UK. The UK mass market paperback is due out in January 2010. US publishers Pyr have publication scheduled for autumn 2010, as do Ediouro in Brazil. Thirteen Years Later is due out in the UK in March 2010, with releases in other countries to follow.

Q: And what about book three?
A: We still don't have a title for the third book in the series, but it's due for delivery to the publisher in September 2010 and should be published in 2011.

Q: Can I see a preview before then?
A: Yes. Excerpts from Twelve, Thirteen Years Later and Sifr are available on this site.

Q: Is there a schedule for the rest of The Danilov Quintet?
A: Not as yet. I'm not sure I'm up to writing all the remaining novels back to back.

Q: So which character is it that survives until the final book?
A: Wait and see.

Q: Where did the idea for Twelve come from?
A: Hard to say. I'd just hung up a print of the painting of Napoleon at the pont d'Arcole. There's a certain deathly quality to Bonaparte's face that I think set my imagination working.

Q: Are the other books available for publication?
A: Yes. Contact my agent John Jarrold for details.

Q: So what's so great about rats?
A: Look into their eyes - you'll know.
